Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join our team in Huddersfield, where you'll be instrumental in providing targeted support to students who require assistance in managing their behavior. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and contribute to their academic and personal development.This role is a temporary position starting in September and lasting until October 2024.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students identified as needing behavioral support, providing one-on-one guidance and interventions to help them manage their emotions and behaviors effectively.
- Implement behavior management strategies and techniques tailored to the individual needs of each student, promoting positive coping mechanisms and conflict resolution skills.
- Support the development and implementation of personalized behaviour plans, collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to facilitate their engagement in learning and participation in school activities.
- Monitor and record student behavior and progress, providing regular feedback to inform ongoing support strategies and interventions.
- Act as a mentor and role model for students, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies involved in supporting students' behavioral needs, maintaining open and transparent lines of communication.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with SEN within the UK.
- Familiarity with the UK curriculum is crucial.
- Valid Enhanced Child DBS certificate.
- Ideally, a background in education or relevant qualifications.
- A profound understanding of Behaviour support strategies and the ability to navigate a diverse learning environment with patience and empathy.
- Appreciation of each child's uniqueness, necessitating personalized learning approaches.
